Commission Process:
Portraits can be done from your favorite photo, or a combination of photos. For example, the pose from one,
hair color or clothes from another. Original photo must be at least a 5x7 or 8x10.
If there is no desirable photo in your collection, a photo session will be scheduled at your residence or your
chosen environment. The photos are then used as reference for the portrait. This procedure produces more
natural and relaxed expressions than hours of "posed" sittings. The client can choose his or her favorite expression
rather than being "surprised" by an artist's choice. This allows the artist's interpretation to be governed by the
client's preferences, while working under studio conditions.
It takes an average of 2 months for a full figure portrait.
Framing:
I can frame the painting in conjunction with my preferred framer.
The price of the frame is not included in the portrait fee.
Financial
Arrangements:
A 50% deposit, along with the travel expenses (not included in
fees below), is required upon the commissioning of the portrait
to secure a place in my schedule. Travel expenses whenever possible
will be shared between more than one commission in any given
area. Final payment is due upon delivery of the portrait.
